Emterra Helping to Green Children’s Rehabilitation Foundation Event

September 24, 2013 - Walkers, joggers, bikers and gliders cruisin’ Wellington Crescent on Sunday morning will find a new feature along the route this year.

Emterra Environmental, a platinum sponsor, has volunteered to provide recycling bins and to recycle the hundreds of water bottles and other beverage containers that are typically used along the route.

Emterra CEO, Emmie Leung, says that “going the extra mile to help the RBC Cruisin’ down the Crescent fund-raising event by giving more than sponsorship dollars is a mission of Emterra’s national Community CareTMprogram, which is to contribute to the environmental health and sustainability in the communities we serve, live and work.”

Emterra, which collects household and business recyclables and garbage, yard waste and bulk waste under a city contract, employs more than 200 Winnipeg area residents. The operation in Winnipeg comprises the largest fleet of environmentally-friendly, natural gas-fuelled trucks in Canada and the largest operating in a cold weather climate in the world, putting Winnipeg on the map for the use of environmentally-responsible fuel alternatives. As well, Emterra operates the largest natural gas refuelling station for refuse trucks in North America.

The Children's Rehabilitation Foundation is happy to have Emterra Environmental as a new sponsor this year, and welcomes them to the CRF family.
