New collection program has started in townships of North Dumfries, Wellesley, Wilmot and Woolwich, Ontario

March 10, 2017

Beginning the week of March 6, 2017, Emterra Environmental began collection in the townships of North Dumfries, Wellesley, Wilmot and Woolwich, Ontario. Collection in these regions includes waste and recycling, organics, yard waste, bulky and large metal items along with Christmas trees.

With this collection there are a few changes to the service, including the trucks being used and the collection schedules.

Emterra Environmental Trucks

Two different styles of trucks will be used for collection in the townships. The first style of truck is the Rear Load, which is designed with two compartments. These trucks will collect waste and organics one week and then leaf and yard waste, along with organics the second week. The second truck is the Side Load truck. These vehicles have two separate compartments as well; to accommodate collection of dual-stream recycling. The combination of these vehicles will reduce the amount of trucks on the road and the amount of time required to complete routes.

Collection Schedules

Residents may experience changes in their collection days and the time of their pick-ups. We do encourage everyone to place their items at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on their collection day.

Collection calendars are available on the Region of Waterloo website. You can also call the region at 519.575.4400.
